The effect of Watching a horror film on CC (Coping Capacity) below. The volunteers' CC was measured before and after either  quietly sitting in a room  watching nothing (green boxes) or watching a horror film (Red Circle).

After watching the horror film, there was a significant decrease in CC (ie the  volunteers were stressed) This allows the effects of horror films to be objectively quantified

 

                                                              

The technique can be used to assess the impact of music on stress levels. Grading music objectively according to the degree to which it relieves stress.
