''Every person is a walking biography of the stresses they have encountered'' Marilyn Ferguson
Does stress have an impact on diseases?
- Stress can have an impact on respiratory, cardiovascular and immune system disorders and can affect the recovery from operations. The effect will depend on the nature, duration and intensity of the stress and the disease. If you are concerned you should consult a physician.
- Stress can result in an increase in opportunistic infections (bacterial infections, coughs, colds, sore throats).
- Stress has been linked to some types of hair loss in men and women and in an increase in the appearance of ageing.
- Monitoring stress can inform targeted early intervention
